Balancing Technology and Human Interaction in Banking

Technology and Human Interaction: Bank employee assisting female customer

Do you embrace technology or prefer human engagement when conducting your financial transactions?  Some people enjoy the ease and discretion of digitized banking, while others favor personalized customer service when conducting their financial affairs.

A balanced approach between automation and personal contact enables financial institutions to merge technology with human experience and expertise, promoting the delivery of services and positive outcomes for their members and account holders.

At Welcome Federal Credit Union, we have updated our digital banking features to meet members’ expectations while maintaining accessibility to personalized guidance and financial education.  We recently rolled out our new and improved online and mobile banking app and enhanced e-statements, and our list of testimonials given by our long-established and new members continues to grow.

At Welcome, technology complements our human interactions.

  • Ensuring staff can sit with members to complete forms or applications, they may not feel comfortable completing online.
  • Providing our associates with the right tools and information to deliver exceptional service.
  • Allowing members to enjoy seamless digital transactions and providing personal guidance by telephone or in-person when necessary.
  • Providing accessibility to those who may be too young (juvenile) or unable to use technology to conduct transactions.
  • Fostering trust and rapport with our members who need reassurance that their transactions were completed correctly.

According to Yahoo Finance, “More than half (53%) of consumers stated they prefer to chat with a live agent via the telephone regarding complex customer service questions or issues …” 1    Many of us appreciate the convenience of automated tools, but human connection helps reassure us when navigating complex issues.

Welcome Federal Credit Union just celebrated its 50th anniversary.  We have a history of supporting our members, community, and staff.   We are keeping up with technology, but we never forget who we are here to serve:  our member-owners!

WFCU provides secure digital tools to conduct your financial transactions.  We also provide the human connection you need, offering personalized support for part or all of your transactions.  You are always welcome!
