More than $29,000 Raised by Members
Welcome Credit Union recently made a $2,521.70 donation to the American Cancer Society. Since the partnership began in August 2010, more than $29,000 has been raised through its membership. The donations support research right here in The Triangle.
“Support from businesses and groups like you all at Welcome Federal Credit Union is the lifeblood of the American Cancer Society,” said Rachel Urban, Executive Director at the American Cancer Society. “It fuels our work and impact. Welcome Federal Credit Union is a phenomenal partner and group who understands our critical mission and really gets behind our work and our lifesaving mission.”
The partnership between Welcome Credit Union and the American Cancer Society is making a difference. ACS is 3.5 million volunteers strong. ACS attacks cancer through every angle, from breakthrough research and direct service, to public education and behavior change. Just in North Carolina alone, ACS is funding more than $12.25 million in research, which includes major research partners at Duke University, University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, and Wake Forest University.
“My team and I are beyond grateful for this support and we know that our impact reaches thousands in this area every year,” Urban said. “Our relentless mission to save lives and fight this disease is powerful. Relay for Life of the Triangle
Relay for Life events from Cary, Apex, Morrisville, Garner, East Wake and Raleigh have combined into one large event – Relay for Life of the Triangle. The event is scheduled for July 31, 2021 at Lake Benson Park in Garner. Click here to learn more on how you can help or participate.
